From His Fullness

For from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace (John 1:16).

Jesus is full of grace. Another way to say it is that He has an abundance of grace. But this abundance is almost beyond imagination.

It isn’t that Jesus is full of grace like Bill Gates’ bank account is full of cash or Lebron James has an abundance of skill.

No, those don’t even scratch the service.

Jesus has a fullness of grace like the ocean has a fullness of water particles and the universe has a fullness of stars and the Amazon rainforest is full of plant life and the Sahara desert has a fullness of sand.

If grace were a physical object, Jesus’ abundance would fill the universe a million times over.

And we have received grace upon grace from him.

Our lives has been lavished, soaked, overwhelmed by the grace of Christ. From start to finish, our lives tell the story of a grace that creates, redeems, and restores.

But does this abundance mean that grace is cheap?

No.

The grace we experience was neither free nor cheap. As the fullness of grace is incomprehensible, so it is with the cost. Our grace cost a life. Not just any life. The life of pure and absolute innocence. The life of holiness. The life of God.

Praise the Lord for His abundant grace!
