The Good Stuff (3/7/25)

Gentle and Holy– Here’s a thoughtful reflection on God’s character. “The Lord, like a great jewel held up to the sun, displays endless new perfections and beauties as the light of His glory refracts through His many attributes – wrath coupled with grace, holiness with gentleness, all existing within perfect and eternal harmony.”

Preaching from Brokenness– This article is a bit lengthy, but it is great. James Keen, who pastors in TN, reflects on how the loss of his daughter 2021 has affected his pastoring. Even if you’re not a pastor, this is a good read to consider the role that various forms of suffering may be playing into your pastor’s life.

Religious Landscape Study– This is a large survey done by the Pew Research Center that breaks down the religious view of the US by age and by region. This will be helpful for you and your church as you consider evangelism and discipleship within your community.

The Myth of the Easy Answer– “Our hunger for tweet-length solutions, for snackable, bite-sized redemption plans has collapsed our ability, both as a church and a nation, to build towards sustainable healing—the sort of healing that takes place over centuries.”
